I am sitting here watching the Golden Globes, and Meryl Streep just won for The Devil Wears Prada. She gave the most unbelievable acceptance speech – not because it was exceptionally moving or thought provoking, but simply because she is so comfortable in her own skin and couldn’t seem to care any less of what anyone thinks. I guess that is one of the many gifts of aging.
Of course she was thrilled to win, but she took her sweet time with her acceptance speech. She even playfully barked at the person who groaned when she took out her notes. “Oh, shut up. It’s not that long,” she quipped. She said this so matter-of-factly and then went on to give her light, funny, touching speech. She is a woman to be admired – a woman of strength, confidence, and real chutzpah.
There – a rave to balance the previous rant. 🙂
